COMMUNICATIONS

PEN Members’ Book Exhibit:

We invite delegates to participate in the book exhibit and/or sale at the Educal bookstore of the Palacio de las Bellas Artes. We would appreciate it if you could send an e-mail to congreso-booklist@penmexico.org.mx with the following information, as it may apply:

a) Authors, editors and translators whose work is already available for commercial distribution in Mexico should send their distributor or publishing house’s details.  Educal will be responsible for requesting the books directly.

b) Authors who do not currently have commercial distribution in Mexico and who would like to consign their publications to Educal during the event, should take the following steps:

Before the Congress:

1)      Send us the following letter authorizing exhibit and sale:

(Date)

Lic. Henoc de Santiago

Marketing Manager / Gerente de Comercialización de Educal-México

henocd@librosyarte.com.mx, congreso-booklist@penmexico.org.mx

I am interested in having Educal sell my publications during the 69th PEN Congress and I agree to Educal receiving a 40% commission of the public sale price.

_______________________________     PEN Center ______________

                                                                            First and Last Name

2)      Attach a list of the books and quantities that will be delivered in person by the author at the hotel registration table.

For sale: Note the price per unit in dollars on the list.

For exhibit: Note "for exhibit only" with the corresponding title.

During the Congress:

3)      The books should be transported by the authors themselves and, as stated above, should be delivered to the Congress registration table at the hotel or to the EDUCAL bookstore located in the vestibule of the Palacio de Bellas Artes. The books should be delivered with a receipt or list that indicates the title, number of copies of each title and the public sale price in dollars.

4)      The exchange rate used for the sale of the publications will be the prevailing rate on the day the books are received, according to BBVA Bancomer bank’s market price for dollars.

5)      At the end of the Congress, the bookstore will pay the autor for the books sold. Payment will be made in Mexican pesos and any unsold copies will be returned. Mexican PEN  will not be responsible for books that are not retrieved from Educal directly.

6)      Mexican PEN will accept author gifts of publications as donations.
